What to Expect on a Private Prosecco Hills Tour

Private Prosecco Hills Tour from Venice – What to Expect with a Local Sommelier

Pick up from Susegana station — 1 hour from Venice. 4 to 8 hours. 2 to 4 wineries. A local sommelier who grew up here. Here is what your private tour looks like.

You have found the Prosecco hills on a map. You have read about the UNESCO landscape, the old vines, the small family cellars. Now you want to know what a day here actually looks like.

This is what to expect.

Getting here is easier than you think.

Susegana station is one hour from Venice by train — direct, simple, no connections. I pick you up there personally. If you are already staying in the Prosecco UNESCO hills — in a hotel or B&B among the vineyards — I come directly to your accommodation.

No rental car. No navigation on narrow mountain roads. No wondering which turn to take. From the moment I meet you, the day is taken care of.

Choose your tour.

Every tour is private — just you, your group, and me. No strangers. No fixed schedules. No rushing.

You choose how long you want to spend in these hills:

4 hours — Two wineries, two tastings, the essential Prosecco hills experience. Perfect if you are visiting for a day from Venice and want to understand what makes this wine extraordinary.

6 hours — Two to three wineries, more time in the vineyards, lunch at a restaurant. A deeper dive into the landscape, the wine and the food of this land.

7 hours — Three to four wineries, a leisurely lunch, time to stand on the hillside and simply look. For the wine lover who wants to understand, not just taste.

8 hours — The full experience. Four wineries, lunch, hidden gems, breathtaking views, the stories that only someone who grew up here can tell. A day you will not forget.

The wineries.

I take you to small, family-owned cellars — the kind that do not appear in travel guides and do not welcome busloads of tourists. The person who pours your wine is the same person who made it — who pruned the vines in winter, who worried about the frost in spring, who made every decision that ended up in your glass.

I am beside you as a sommelier — helping you understand what you are tasting, why it tastes the way it does, and why it could only have come from these specific hills.

Depending on your tour length, we visit the Prosecco Superiore DOCG, the Rive — the single-vineyard wines — and the legendary Cartizze, the Golden Pentagon of these hills, where 107 hectares produce the most precious wine in the Prosecco world.

The landscape.

Between cellars, we drive — and walk — through the UNESCO hills. The constant rise and fall of the landscape, the rows of vines descending into valleys, the Dolomites on the northern horizon.

I know where the views are. The ones that stop your breath before you have time to prepare. The ancient terraces that machines cannot reach. The hidden corners that no guidebook mentions.

This is my home. I have always known where to look.

Food — on the longer tours.

On the 6, 7 and 8-hour tours, we stop for lunch. A proper meal, with time to sit, to eat well, to let the morning's tastings settle.

Wine and food here belong together — they always have. A good lunch in these hills is not a pause in the tour. It is part of it.

What this tour is not.

It is not a bus tour. It is not a fixed itinerary with a microphone and a schedule. It is not a tasting room designed for groups of forty.

It is a private day in one of the most beautiful wine landscapes on earth, guided by a local sommelier who grew up here and knows every vine, every story, every family behind the wine.
