Veneto Named Top 25 by Lonely Planet 2027 | Private Prosecco Tours
Veneto Makes Lonely Planet’s Top 25 Destinations for 2027
For the first time ever, Veneto has been named one of the 25 must-visit destinations in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2027. The announcement was made on September 23rd at Palazzo Balbi in Venice, with Veneto’s regional president Alberto Stefani, Italy’s Tourism Minister Gianmarco Mazzi, and Lonely Planet Global leadership in attendance.
Veneto is the only Italian region on this year’s list, chosen by an international panel of around 450 experts and editors — recognized for innovation, sustainability, and authenticity, with Venice as the gateway to a wider Veneto: the Dolomites, Lake Garda, Verona, Padua, Vicenza, Treviso, the Euganean Hills — and the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Why the Prosecco Hills Are Veneto’s Authentic Heart
For those of us who live among these vineyards every day, it’s a wonderful confirmation: Prosecco Superiore DOCG and its famous grassy terraced slopes represent the most authentic soul of this region.
Come Discover the Veneto Beyond Venice
A private wine tour through the Prosecco Hills is the most authentic way to experience this newly-recognized region: small family wineries, a glass of Prosecco Superiore DOCG overlooking UNESCO vineyards, and stories from someone who’s called this place home her whole life.
